Conference Proceedings
Authors of the accepted abstracts (after evaluation by the scientific and technical committees) will be invited to register online. The registered author(s) of each accepted abstract will receive a “Springer Certificate of Acceptance” certifying that the research study (abstract) has been accepted for presentation as an oral communication during the conference or online (i.e. virtual presentation). Note that the e-Poster presentation will also be considered as an oral communication.

All accepted authors will be invited to submit an extended version (short proceedings paper) of their abstracts, although it is not a prerequisite (i.e. preparation of a short paper for publication in the proceedings by Springer is optional).

Note that these options are possible:

1. Present the accepted abstract at the conference without publishing a short paper in the proceedings.
2. Present the accepted abstract at the conference without publishing a full paper in one of the planned special issues.
3. Publish a full paper in a special issue without publishing its short version in the proceedings.
4. Present at the conference online (without attending in person) and publish a short paper in the proceedings and/or a journal manuscript in one of the planned special issues.

Extended abstracts (short proceedings papers,  max. 4 pages, using the WEN-Template) should be written according to the structured (accepted) abstract and in a form that is shorter than the full paper. Subtitles in the extended abstract should be as follows: abstract and keywords; introduction and objective; methodology; findings and argument (short discussion); conclusion and suggestions.

Extended abstracts will be peer reviewed over several rounds until final acceptance. Afterwards, these short papers will be published as chapters of the conference proceedings by Springer. The registered author of each accepted paper will receive a “Springer Certificate of Publication” certifying that the paper has been published in the conference proceedings.

The conference proceedings will be published online at SpringerLink in the book series “Advances in Science, Technology and Innovation” (ASTI) which is under evaluation for indexation in Scopus. All authors will receive a soft copy of the proceedings after the conference.

Oral Communications
There are three types of oral communications: a Podium presentation (12 min), an e-Poster presentation (7 min) or an Online presentation (12 min). The type chosen will depend on the author’s stated preference and the decision of the scientific committee.

During the conference the best papers presented in each conference topic, as judged by the scientific committee, will receive awards. Decisions will be made based on the following criteria:

  • originality and newness of contribution;
  • application of methodology;
  • effective communication of the central ideas of the work.

All winners will be presented with a commemorative certificate and will be acknowledged during the closing ceremony.

Special Issues
After the conference, the scientific committee aims to publish a set of high-quality topical collections (special issues) comprised of selected papers presented during the conference (onsite or online). Authors of the selected works will be invited after the conference to submit an extended version (full paper to have at least 40% more new content than the proceedings version – if any) of their abstract or short proceedings paper for evaluation by the editors of the collaborating journals (The full list of supporting journals will be announced soon):
