Conference Proceedings
Authors of the accepted abstracts (after evaluation by the scientific and technical committees) will be invited to register online. The registered author(s) of each accepted abstract will receive a “Springer Certificate of Acceptance” certifying that the research study (abstract) has been accepted for presentation as an online oral communication during the conference (i.e. virtual presentation).
All accepted authors will be invited to submit an extended version (short proceedings paper) of their abstracts, although it is not a prerequisite (i.e. preparation of a short paper for publication in the proceedings by Springer is optional).
Note that these options are possible:
1. Present online the accepted abstract at the conference without publishing a short paper in the proceedings.
2. Present online the accepted abstract at the conference without publishing a full paper in one of the planned special issues.
3. Present online and publish a short paper in the proceedings and a full paper in a special issue.
4. Do not present at the conference and publish in the proceedings.
Extended abstracts (short proceedings papers, max. 4 pages, using the WEN-Template) should be written according to the structured (accepted) abstract and in a form that is shorter than the full paper. Subtitles in the extended abstract should be as follows: abstract and keywords; introduction and objective; methodology; findings and argument (short discussion); conclusion and suggestions.
Extended abstracts will be peer reviewed over several rounds until final acceptance. Afterwards, these short papers will be published as chapters of the conference proceedings by Springer. The registered author of each accepted paper will receive a “Springer Certificate of Publication” certifying that the paper has been published in the conference proceedings.
The conference proceedings will be published in the Springer ASTI series which is indexed in Scopus. All authors will receive a soft copy of the proceedings after the conference.
Oral Communications
There is one type of oral communication: a recorded online PPT presentation (12 min).
Awards
During the conference the best papers presented in each conference topic, as judged by the scientific committee, will be selected. Decisions will be made based on the following criteria:
- originality and newness of contribution;
- application of methodology;
- effective communication of the central ideas of the work.
All winners will receive after the conference a commemorative certificate and will be acknowledged during the closing event.
Special Issues
After the conference, the scientific committee aims to publish a set of high-quality topical collections (special issues) on each track comprised of selected papers presented during the conference (online). Authors of the selected works will be invited after the conference to submit an extended version (full paper to have at least 60% more new content than the proceedings version – if any) of their abstract or short proceedings paper for evaluation by the editors of the collaborating journals listed below.
